Unterwirt. The Caudate letter
The hotel and horse breeding farm from South Tyrol, its name meaning “Under the Owner”.
Just seeing those “r”s was enough for me to understand that: 1) I'm looking at a logo, and 2) it's about a farm. The image is beautifully conveyed — the tails of the “r”s break the rhythm of the typography and make the logo distinctive.
Unfortunately, this custom font is also used as regular text on the website, which makes reading difficult.
Designers' statement: After researching local horse breeding farms, we noticed that many of them used a horse image in their branding. In order to differentiate Unterwirt from other horse farms, we developed a custom typeface where a tail is added to the lowercase “r”.
